“I was told I couldn’t make a political statement."
It’s not the first time an Australian has gotten involved in the Black Lives Matter protests, and it definitely won’t be the last. Australian porn actress Elle Knox reveals she was kicked off a flight in the US after standing up to share her views on George Floyd’s death
In a recent tweet, Knox said, “My flight from Houston to San Francisco just landed. I stood up and said, ‘This isn’t my country, I am Australian. But I’ve noticed your democracy being threatened. Do not be complacent. Decide what side of history you’d like to be on.’”
According to News.com.au, police were called after passengers on Knox’s flight “felt threatened” by her statement about George Floyd.
“I’ve been told I scared people when I made the announcement,” Knox tweeted. “Even though everyone applauded me when I was escorted off. If I stood up and asked people to wish my friend a happy birthday this wouldn’t be an issue.”
“I was told I couldn’t make a political statement on a United Airline, I told them this was a Human Rights statement,” she added in another tweet.
Protesters fighting against racial injustice and police brutality have been gathering all over the US and other parts of the world, with many demonstrations escalating to violence through the use of tear-gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets.
