Have you ever heard anyone say, 'I can't wait to get home and enjoy a nice warm beer?'
Sure, you can wrap it in wet newspaper and whack it in the freezer for half an hour, but if you're short on time and not short on cash you can get Juno - a sort of 'reverse microwave', which will chill your bevvy in minutes.
The idea, which has been successfully crowdfunded, was revealed at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas, where creators showed that it can cool a can of beer (or soft drink) within a couple of minutes or a whole bottle of wine in about five minutes.
Juno uses thermoelectric technology, which wicks heat away from your drink, whether it's a room temperature bottle of beer or a steaming cup of coffee. One product description suggests it's 'like a microwave for cooling'.
Creators Matrix say: "Juno can do so much more than just chill wine. It can turn your freshly brewed coffee cold, transform your hot tea into iced tea, and cool your favourite beer or soft drink, right in the can."
Akram Boukai, CEO and co-founder of Matrix, said: "Juno is the ultimate consumer demonstration of how our cooling technology can radically alter the way we manipulate temperatures.
"But the applications are endless and we're so excited for the future partnerships and use-cases of Matrix thermoelectric cooling technology."
You can select how cold you'd like the beverage - and it comes with presets for different things, such as red wine or white wine.
Users of the new gadget will be able to track how quickly their drink is being cooled via a strip of LED lights down the side, which changes colour from red to blue to let you know when it's done.
The device isn't cheap, though, you can expect to part with around $399 for one - but, for the time being, you can get an early bird offer through the crowdfunding site Indiegogo
