The Top 10 has been revealed.
The quality of his work has been questioned but there’s no denying Adam Sandler knows how to put eyes on screens.
In a list of the Netflix movies and TV shows Australians parked themselves in front of this year, Sandler’s comedy Murder Mystery finished on top when it came to the most popular new releases of 2019, according to news.com.au.
The flick follows detective Nick (Sandler) and wife Audrey, played by Jennifer Aniston, as they become embroiled in an investigation following the death of a prominent billionaire.
In second was recently-released action thriller 6 Underground, starring Ryan Reynolds.
The film follows a tech billionaire and his team of international operatives aiming to take down a brutal dictator.
The hype train surrounding The Witcher, a fantasy series based on the mega successful video game series of the same name, drove it into third.
The list was generated based on the number of Aussie accounts that watched the first couple of minutes of a title in the month after its release.
Six of the combined TV and movies list are movies, with Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, the Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and the Ben Affleck and Oscar Isaac heist movie Triple Frontier also feature.
