Under The Southern Stars 2021 Welcomes Australia's First International Touring Bands Since COVID

It's been a long minute since international touring ground to a halt globally thanks to the ongoing coronavirus.

But Australia is set to welcome its first international tour in more than a year when Stone Temple Pilots, Bush and Cheap Trick headline the 2021 Under The Southern Stars instalment this autumn.

Originally slated for 2020 (with Stone Temple Pilots, Bush and +Live+ – who due to scheduling conflicts can no longer make it down under and have been replaced by Cheap Trick), Under The Southern Stars has Border Commission approval to travel around Australia.

Set to visit Wollongong, Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Adelaide, regional Victoria (x2 shows), Melbourne, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane, the three international acts will rotate headliner duties.

"I'm so proud of my team in securing exemption from Commission of Border Control and thankful to all the Captains of Industry, Ministers, Lord Mayors and SA Premier for their letters of support," UTSS promoter Andrew McManus says.

"We are very excited to now be able to announce Cheap Trick as an addition to the line-up. It's a shame LIVE's schedule won't permit the new time frame yet I am sure this triple bill will rock our UTSS audiences to the core.

"Being the first live on stage international tour, we are aware the eyes of the world will be on us championing the re-opening of live international touring not only in Australia but globally.

"Under the Southern Stars '21 will be part of history. I urge fans to get in quickly and applaud all for supporting live music and the whole entertainment sector so badly damaged by COVID."

Cheap Trick, who are releasing their 20th studio album, 'In Another World', in April are excited to head down under.

"We look forward to joining Bush and Stone Temple Pilots in one of our favourite countries. We will have new record out and are excited to play some of our new songs."

All tickets already purchased remain 100 per cent valid for the new dates with additional tickets on sale from Friday 5 February. The original Perth concert has been cancelled (ticket holders will be contacted direct about their refund).

Joining the tour at all shows will be Australian rock royalty Rose Tattoo and Melbourne rockers Electric Mary.

General tickets on sale from 9am EDT on 5 February. More information.
